Is This A Life Worth Living?

As the adage goes, "cursed are those who are born during the age of transition." This Chinese proverbial plight applies more so in the case of the struggling millions in the over-crowded metropolitan cities, belonging to the poor countries. With due regard to our President's vision relating to provision of urban amenities in rural areas, it is debatable whether urban amenities are conspicuous by their absence or mismanagement thanks to the unenviable capacity of the city administration to do so.

No doubt the quality of life in terms of material welfare has been enhanced for the average middle-income group given the globalised scenario. Yet what is being denied raises the issue whether it is all really worth the trouble in terms of the compromises that are made.

What is at stake is the ecological sensitivity of citizens. As a citizen, one has the fundamental right to enjoy a pollution free environment and decongested urban spaces for healthy and prosperous living.

"Open spaces" allow the weary citizens to steam off after a day's slogging, especially in a tropical climate. In fact, the sanity of city life is being preserved only in the open spaces. If overcrowding and spurt in vehicular traffic eat into the "open spaces" available to the common man, it would hamper his emotional and psychological well-being and is nothing short of a violation of human rights.

The problems relating to negative externalities due to overcrowding of public spaces affect both the rich and the poor alike. Yoga, transcendental meditation, gym, and other outlets are the available stress relievers to the higher income groups for recharging themselves. The low-income groups, lacking both in awareness and affordability, naturally look upon the open space as lubricating mechanism for their deprivation in private spaces. They invariably emerge from polluted and overcrowded slums and it is not only ethical but also sensible not to deprive them of open spaces lest there should be more crime and violence.

Make Next Generation DO things Differently

Every kid in the present generation has been put up to extreme pressure by the past generation people (just a generation back) in many issues. One of the major issues which the present generation children suffer is their parents enforcing them to get good scores. They don’t care about amount of knowledge they gain but they just care for the grade which they get. This is really in contrast to the meaning and purpose of education. The true purpose of education is to make the mind to think which is not happening at present.

The ambition of students are buried and thickly soiled and blindly guided by the path laid by their parents. In the process only importance to education is been stressed. If a student is doing some part time job our society is not developed to look at it in a positive way, instead they go and talk to parents and spread some negative brainstorming in the society. If the same kid goes abroad for higher studies and if he works in part time, even worse than a job what he got before it is been told with a big hype.

It is definitely time to rethink on what is happening, many take up course without knowing what they are going to study in it after joining the course. They simply take up the course because they have better scope of improvement. After joining that course he feels total discomfort in continuing the course.

A self analysis is really needed before deciding what course we are going to study. In the same way many prefer to do MBA without work experience but what if something is studied without knowing what we are studying.

It is time that we rethink on how garbage is used, how natural resources and non renewable source of energy is been used. It is time to lessen the pollution rate, how well we use the public transport system, how well we save electric power. This all when planned well and managed well we can give a better place for the next generation to live.

It is our duty to look forward and make our next generation to do things differently. We shall not look up grades alone in education field, we shall work while we work and study while we study, lets analyze a course before we start working on it, give independence to the children of next generation on what they like to do, we need to support research facilities, and ultimately we restructure the education system in the which makes brain to think. This naturally helps in invoking active thinking ability which will invoke creativity and ultimately creativity leads to development.

Tobacco :also Sets fire to your Back too

Tobacco and smoking is been one of the major causes of deaths around the world. One of the major cause of Lung cancer. Being a carcinogenic substance the probability of a person addicted to it getting cancer is sure similar to a ball attracted to the ground due to gravity.

The use of these substance has a number of confirmed ill effects which includes
  • Tobacco and smoking kills a person
  • Causes poverty(exacerbates poverty)
  • Production of tobacco causes pollution
  • It causes reduction in economic productivity
  • It employs many thousands of people, it can be considered a wasted labour.
  • It causes wastage of capital and resources used up
Many farmers also consider the plantation of tobacco as a profitable source of income and hence they tend to plot tobacco in the land which is fertile enough to cultivate food crops this ultimately causes the net reduction of food crops around the world. This adds fuel to the existing fire of global food crisis.

With all potential know causes when government tried to curb tobacco and smoking the tobacco industries with the enormous resources and liquidity, it weakened the laws which were enforced against the use of it.

What could have the been the major reason for this much huge fan following behind tobacco and smoking. Only answer is Curiosity drags them, addiction persists them, withdrawal symptoms hold them.

To reduce the theft The theif himself must realize it is wrong and similarly to avoid all problems it is the smoker who should have the required awarness.

Democratic Right

A leader is a person who directs who stands as a stepping stone to success. A nation however penurious be it, a good leader can easily turn the fortune. He not only carries the destiny of his current generation but also his future generation. Hence it is the duty of the people to choose who is their right leader. A wrong decision once taken could cost dearly. That why one should live in a democratic country where his views are respected. Celebrate democracy!! Cast your vote!!

Religion and Science

Science is a search for knowledge as well as a method of solving problems. Both science and religion are forms of human understanding. Both science and religion are human ways of relating themselves to reality. Both science and religion try to make explicit the world of the unknown. Both science and religion claim access to truth. On many occasions in the past as well as present, in many a war, both science as well as religion have acted against humankind.  Both religion and science prescribe qualifications for their personnel.

Believe in God

There is God and He is the creator is something that can neither be proved right nor proved wrong. But those who have belief in the statement that there is God enjoy

(a) "security" by constantly relating to Him through various religious rituals and nurturing the bond with time improving the feeling of security;

(b) certain discipline that all religions teach and thus gain control over one's sense organs. Following the discipline and rituals alone makes one capable of leading his life harmoniously with the rest of the creation.

Beyond proper understanding of the scriptures and the laws of karma or its equivalent, it is important to develop unshakable faith in the Lord. Faith without this knowledge will fail at times of serious adversity. It will make one question the existence of the Lord and His sense of fairness when one sees good happening to bad people and bad to good people.

It is certainly helpful for one to believe in God, constantly relate to him through religious rituals and gain a secured feeling.

Play all the way

Play all the way as long as you play you shall stay hale and healthy. Play any sort of game that gives you mental happiness. Playing is most important activity which everyone should do in order to keep them lively. If a person is stressed too much on work he shall lose interest in life. Playing will get back the childish happiness in a person which can actually eliminate any stress in a person.

Work is important, but even doing activity which pleases the mind and make the mind do the work properly is almost important. Playing is one way to make the mind stress, many others ways to help a person come out of stress for which Yoga is a classic example. The Yoga when performed will release a lot of useful energy which can potentially make a person of any age active and also helps a person to stay brisk even during old age.

'Icon' making

Not all human beings are self-motivated. Those without self-motivation need external motivators to motivate them to excel in their field of activity. For such people, very often the external motivators are the men and women perceived as ‘icons’ by society.

These ‘icons’ normally reach their exalted status by virtue of their skills, dedication and sustained hard work in a particular area of activity. The huge public adulation that they command inspires lesser mortals to strive to emulate them.

To the extent that the ‘icons’ inspire people to excel in various socially desirable activities, they serve as catalysts for the progress of society. But, in the present age of television, ‘icon making’ has become almost an exclusive function of TV channels, which, of course, do this with their viewership rating and cash registers in mind.

A Serious Pandemic

Hatred Immunity Deficiency Syndrome (HIDS) is probably the most serious pandemic in our world today, potentially deadlier than even AIDS. The disease may be ‘active’ or in remission, but it is extremely difficult to cleanse oneself of this affliction completely. Once infected, all the immunity mechanisms built in the human mind over the years can be rendered useless. Learning, education, value system, etc., are all laid to waste by this malady. The ceaseless churning of the infected mind and the burning of the heart weakens the noble human spirit and demonises it. HIDS has claimed more lives than any other calamity known to man.

Though man has been battling with reasonable success all kinds of adversities including diseases and natural calamities, he has not even begun the battle with this deadliest of all afflictions, which can exterminate mankind, nay, all life on this planet. Hatred can spread very fast indeed. Thanks to modern communication systems, an incident miles away can provoke hatred reactions and genocide within hours, if not minutes at several other localities. And even after it subsides, it leaves behind so much hatred, bitterness and such terrible scarring.

It is imperative for the educated people from all faiths, regions and communities to wake up, or be prepared to face the catastrophe. Expansive thinking, unity of purpose, integrated and harmonious co-existence are to be propagated instead of divisive theories. The nobility of non-violence and the sacredness of mutual respect have to be drilled again into the vulnerable human minds.

En-Route to Peaceful soceity

We do not belong to any religion or caste. We are bound not by gods or myths, but by a distinct set of living practices. Religion is nothing but a distinct way of living and caste is simply your present job. Doesn't it sound strange?

Does treating religion or caste from this new perspective bring any difference? The answer is `yes.' A strong binding to the religion or caste may make some blind. Though none of the holy books speaks of violence required to safeguard the image of their religion, some selfish leaders promote it to bring a mad unity among masses for self elevation. This madness has massacred many innocents in various communal riots in India. The same madness has destroyed invaluable glorious monuments and constructions.

The human civilisation began thousands of years ago. It underwent many turmoils and raises and finally resulted in today's societal life. People living in a specified geographical region followed a set of practices. These regions were highly isolated. Each of these specific groups formed one religion. To create a cordial environment, the people in that group set some rules and regulations. They also followed systematic practices. So, logically, religion is a distinct way of living followed by a section of people.

Why Is it Still There????Will It ever END

he topic which had much discussion, more than what was ever there, the one which had many cases filed and also won in it, It is none other than CHILD Labour.

It is been said that almost all child are provided with education, but many are found doing work rather than getting educated. Education of masses and creating awarness are the only means to achieve better society.
Well when why are'nt these child works doent go to school. Is'it that they dont education or due to poverty of there place of birth. It is basically poverty of the place of birth.
Acttually a scheme was intoduced in such a way that if the child is sent to school the family will be paid some money, a good scheme but we,wow wat a intelligence BUNK, CUT, go give attendance and come back as guided by their father and go to work for additional work. I dont know wheather this scheme is still there.
A direct photo of a boy in school dress found working, Painting of LORD Ganesha.Good work but he was introduced by to work by his father. Umbrella making and other small activities which he does with great creativeness.

But from where they learn it??.A creative mind is what is required and tested in person in any aspects if they are so creative then if developed they are the source of betterment of the country. In creativity lies the future.
If poverty exists, Child is not sent to school rather he is been sent to a job, to eradicate poverty education is must, so what is the solution. Awarness in each and every parent that education is the only means which can help their children to lead a better life in future.
Only way to come out of this deadlock.

What to be done? (To be or not to be!)

Robert Vanden Bosch in his book “The pesticide conspiracy” cautioned mankind in the following words:

“Nature is emitting signals warning that under the existing format the future is ominous. She is saying that we cannot continue our attempts to ruthlessly dominate her and that if we persist, disaster is in the offing. She has many voices.

Voice of the trees - Voice of the water –
Voice of the soil – Voice of the wind –

The voices of nature are quite easy to hear – If we will only listen. The question is will we? An if we do, can we overcome our corrupt ways and marshal our efforts to collaborate with nature as her brightest child and shepherd of Earth’s life system? If not, it is almost certain that things will worsen for nature but even more so for us. Then at a certain point in time, we may no longer be able to cope with the adversity and we will perish. But nature will survive”.

WE HAVE EYES, BUT WE CANNOT SEE; WE HAVE EARS BUT WE CANNOT HEAR. THIS IS GREEK TRAGEDY: OUR SOCIETY HAS BLINDED ITS OWN EYES

Mobile Threats

Mobile phones have become a part of our day to day life. But the hazards these mobile phones pose on mankind is a matter of concern. Research and studies have proved and have also brought into light that using mobile phones for more than an hour a day can cause brain cells to die. Recent studies have also shown that constant usage of mobile phones will lead to ineffective hearing abilities. Mobile phones were invented for a quick and effective means of communication. Had they been used for communication purpose alone, no problem will arise. The problem arises when people see mobile phones as an alternative for chat, dating assistant and a tool for time pass.
